Downsizing, Moving, or Modifying Your Home: Call a Specialist!
One of the defining characteristics of our growing 55+ society is the prospect of having to downsize, relocate, or modify our homes to fit evolving lifestyles.
Many adults considering a significant home transition have not changed their lifestyle in 30, 40, or even 50 years. The physical and organizational aspects of home relocation or renovation can be daunting at any age, but when we factor in new concerns such as failing health, retirement finances, family dynamics, dementia, clutter, sudden illness, injury, or even death of a spouse, the thought of changing our home environment becomes absolutely overwhelming.
Yet, this is often the time when we most need to address where and how we will live and how we will get there safely, securely and with all the things we love.
Often we turn to our relatives and adult children for help and support, only to find that the demands of their own lives, careers, childcare, and long distance travel may prohibit them from being as supportive as they would like.
Accredited graduates of the Certified Relocation and Transition Specialists program (CRTS) are trained to manage all aspects of 55+ home transitions; from communicating with clients and community administrators, creating floor plans and sorting possessions to packing the family home. They understand the legal, ethical and social issues involved in relocation and personal asset management. A CRTS can qualify professional movers, barrier-free designers and estate sale professionals to meet your needs and your budget.
