Kevin Macpherson's "Reflections on a Pond" Exhibit — This special event highlights a series of unique paintings by one of the country's leading plein air painters. Macpherson's "Reflections on a Pond" paintings — 368 works each captured on 6-by-9-inch panels — portray the body of water near his home at different times of day and night and in all seasons. The series took five years to complete and the travelling exhibit includes 195 of the originals which will be on display. Middletown Middletown Arts Center

"Reflections on a Pond" Lecture (1–3pm; $75/person) — Kevin Macpherson will conduct a lecture on his work, "Reflections on a Pond". Middletown Middletown Arts Center
Middletown Symphony Orchestra Concert Chorale (8pm) — The final concert of their 2009 season with a special number dedicated to Kevin and the "Reflections on a Pond" exhibit. The performance will be held at the Dave Finkelman Auditorium on the campus of Miami University - Middletown. Middletown Middletown Arts Center

32nd Annual Senior Expo (10am–5pm; Admission: $1.50, Boxed Lunch, $1.50) — Celebrate Older Americans Day at Senior Expo! Learn about caregiver assistance, health care, housing, finances, wellness, and recreation. Enjoy live Big Band music, dancing, sing-a-longs, entertainment acts and bingo. Monthly Critique Sessions (6–8pm; $5/person) — The Middletown Arts Center is studying the feasibility of conducting monthly critique sessions in which artists can convene and critique each others work. Additionally, these sessions will include a guest artist / instructor to assess the works and offer suggestions. Light refreshments will be served. Middletown Middletown Arts Center
Tomorrow's Artist Today Competition ($5/entry) — This competition is open to any artist between the ages of 13 and 18, and living within a 50-mile radius of Middletown, OH. Only works in oils or acrylics on canvas, watercolor or acrylics on paper, drawing (including pastels and inks), mixed media (a combination of the aforementioned) and photography are acceptable.
