Guidance, Resources, & Services for older adults
and those that care for and about them

Services:

Age Navigation is a professional service that helps guide older adults and those that care for and about them as they face the many challenges associated with aging. It helps those who do not know exactly what kind of help they need, how to find and arrange for services, and how much they must pay for services.

Our Registered Nurses develop a plan of manageable options blending assistance from paid service providers and unpaid help from family and friends. Age Navigation is an excellent option for people whose incomes are too high to qualify for publicly funded services.

Family Caregiver Stories:

Services from Age Navigation can help the situation many of the sandwich generation find themselves in. We understand it's important for your parent to maintain independence and control, and we know how to help you accomplish that - from starting the conversation with them, through navigating support services. Here's how we help family members:

Margaret - Although living nearby, Margaret needed guidance in developing a plan that defined what was needed to help maintain her mother's control and independence.

Patty - Living so far from their mother, Patty and her brother needed help intervening with medical professionals on her behalf.

Katie - Katie and her brothers and sisters needed help managing the increasing care needs of their mother so they would have the time from their busy lives to enjoy their moments together.

Testimonials:

"We are grateful to the process that has helped us be more attuned to Mom and help her through the coming years. It has helped us voice our concerns for her and listen to her needs for a full and independent life." —Patty, New Jersey

"Working through the report gave us the perfect opportunity to talk about, and resolve, some of these subjects that she had been hesitant to discuss with me before." —Margaret, Michigan

"Trying to figure out how to approach all the details involved with caring for an aging parent was like entering another county… even the language was foreign. It was reassuring to learn that we weren't alone in this experience and there is an organization to assist in the process. Age Navigation has been a valuable resource in assessing our situation, reporting their findings and providing a customized plan to keep Mom independent in her own home as long as possible. Thanks Age Navigation for showing us how to help Mom age in place." —Pat, Indiana

"It is a good written plan, especially one that indicates what is most important to do first. It is like a map for a trip. It shows me where to go next. And the best part is that all of your suggestions relate to my unique circumstances." —Virginia, Michigan
