CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions

CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions is a private, not-for-profit agency serving seniors, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers. CICOA’s mission is to help older persons and those of any age with a disability to live with the greatest possible independence, dignity and quality of life. We do this by connecting our clients with community-based resources and services to help them remain comfortably and safely at home and out of institutional care.

Established in 1974 by an amendment to the 1965 Older Americans Act, CICOA is not a government agency but is part of a nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging that oversee state and federal funds and private donations to provide:

State Health Insurance Assistance Program

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program, or SHIP, is a nationwide program that provides free and objective counseling and assistance to persons with questions or problems regarding Medicare and other related health insurances. SHIP is not affiliated with any insurance State Health Insurance Assistance Programcompany or agency and does not sell insurance.

In Central Indiana, CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions provides expert SHIP counseling through telephone or face-to-face interactions, public education presentations, and media activities. CICOA also has experts who can assist with application for Extra Help and Medicare Savings Programs.
