Concordia Good Samaritan Hospice House
Hospice Care Services in the Pittsburgh Area

hospice care in pittsburgh

Concordia Lutheran MinistriesIn 2004, the Good Samaritan House was built in Wexford, PA to provide quality, end-of-life care in a convenient inpatient facility. We are located minutes from I-79, conveniently accessible to Allegheny, Beaver, and Butler counties.

While many of our patients receive care from their home or hospital room, many spend their final days at our 5,200 square foot house, situated on 1.9 acres of wooded landscape. The emphasis at this breathtaking, six-bedroom facility is personal dignity and positive quality of life. All of the large in-patient suites are individually decorated.

Featuring a large kitchen area, private dining room, gorgeous family room, and chapel, Good Samaritan House is equipped with all the furnishings of home to make your loved one as comfortable as possible. Our private serenity garden areas also provide wonderful views.

The Good Samaritan House is staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day by a team of nurses, aides, and specially trained hospice volunteers. Clergy members requested by a resident are always welcome and spiritual support of all denominations is available through our chaplain.

In an attempt to complete the continuum of care at the Concordia at Cabot location, a 10-bedroom, 6,500 square foot Good Samaritan Hospice wing was added onto the Lund Care Center. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished with a bed, recliner, dresser, armoire, television, DVD player, and clock radio. Additionally, two patient suites provide an adjoining room to accommodate overnight guests.

For more than 125 years, Concordia Lutheran Ministries has been a place with a mission of caring. A place for healing. A place to feel comfortable. And a place where heartfelt Christian faith and a strong sense of service to others help us make a difference every day.

Management and staff alike share the deeply-held belief that all of our efforts are done to serve God's people and to reflect His love. The ministry entrusted to us enables us to do our best for those we serve. You can see it in our attractively maintained facilities, in the smiles on the faces of our staff and residents, and in the strong sense of community that makes Concordia just like a family.

As an organization deeply rooted in history and faith, we take pride in our professionalism and culture here at Concordia. Today, we are developing our legacy of faithful service to others, continually enhancing the continuum of care we provide. We're expanding our services to reach more people in need and we're offering an increasingly wide range of services to seniors and other age groups.

Concordia is a CARF-CCAC accredited Aging Services Network, one of the 100 largest senior care providers in the country, and in the top 2% of the Pennsylvania Department of Health inspection results. At Concordia we go above and beyond the minimum standards for healthcare facilities, and a walk through our halls is all you'll need to realize that. The secret is simple: our highly qualified, dependable staff is absolutely committed to providing the utmost quality of care to every person we serve.
