SQUIRREL HILL’S RIVERVIEW TOWERS RIBBON-CUTTING SET FOR FEBRUARY 7TH
Pittsburgh, PA (February 6, 2011) – On June 25, 2010, a massive water line break soaked the first floor of Squirrel Hill’s Riverview Towers, buckling walls and floors and destroying the senior community’s beauty salon.
On Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony will reveal a refurbished brand new fitness room, made possible by the Nord’s family generous donation.
Thanks to the Nord Family of Pittsburgh, top-of-the-line fitness equipment and a fitness center designed with seniors in mind sits where soggy carpets and a ruined hair salon once remained in the wake of the June 2010 break which cut water service to the entire building and forced the evacuation of the community’s entire first floor.
“We are so grateful for the support of the Nord family,” comments Hanna Steiner, director at Riverview Towers. “Their kind generosity means our senior residents will be able to enjoy greater health and well-being in a beautifully renovated facility that far exceeds the quality and functionality of the former space.”
In addition to the new fitness room, a completely new beauty salon has been built on the first floor and new carpets have been installed.
