The Shapemaster® Difference
A comprehensive exercise program is essential to mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. With ShapeMaster® machines, our residents have access to state-of-the-art technology that was designed specifically for Seniors. Our residents are able to participate in a full body workout program, with low impact resistance training, that reduces the possibility of injury to the muscles, joints and ligaments. Senior Star’s decision to purchase the equipment for its communities came after a trial group of residents experienced significant health benefits following twelve weeks of supervised training1.
Brain Fitness
At Senior Star, we believe every mind matters, and we know that physical fitness, social interaction, intellectual stimulation and the right nutrition are all key to a healthy brain.
That’s why our Brain Fitness program incorporates all these elements, giving residents a wide choice of components and activities to fit their lifestyles. The DAKIM™ brain fitness system is a highly effective cognitive therapy computer program that our residents really enjoy because of the intuitive touch screen interface it uses. We also feature the Posit Science cognitive therapy system which residents access in our computer labs. Studies have shown that cognitive therapy can slow the onset of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
