UPMC for Life is the Medicare Advantage Plan of UPMC Health Plan. UPMC for Life offers a choice of several HMO, PPO and Prescription Drug Plans for eligible Medicare beneficiaries. Our HMO/PPO service area includes 25 counties in Western Pennsylvania.
Strong Hospital and Physician Network
Members can choose from over 6,800 physicians, including more than 4,500 specialists in our provider network. Members do not need referrals to see a specialist. Our members also have access to over 69 hospitals, including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the top-ranked health systems in the nation (U.S. & News World Report, America’s Best Hospitals, 7-27-07).
UPMC for Life Medicare Advantage plans offer Medicare beneficiaries additional services over Original Medicare, e.g., a dental discount program, a health care concierge service, a health and wellness program, and much more.
Health Care Concierge Program
All UPMC for Life members can benefit from the Health Care Concierge program. Special customer representatives or, concierges are specifically assigned to help our members and provide answers to questions about their benefits. They also assist members with finding physicians from our large provider network. Our entire Health Care Concierge team is located in Western Pennsylvania.
Silver&Fit Fitness Program
Our members benefit from our health and wellness program, Silver&Fit™. Silver&Fit offers a series of fitness and education programs at participating fitness clubs that are designed specially for UPMC for Life members. There are no copayments, coinsurances, or deductibles for any of the Silver&Fit programs. Silver&Fit includes healthy aging classes, membership at a local participating fitness club, social activities, and access to its website.
Assist America Worldwide Emergency Care Program
Members receive assistance with hospital admissions, emergency medical evacuation, and more, anywhere in the world with our Assist America program. Assist America's support is available to members who are traveling either internationally or domestically. It is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are no caps, limits, or pre-existing condition exclusions for Assist America services.
Care Management Programs
Our care management programs provide one-on-one support to chronically ill members with diabetes, asthma, or heart disease. Periodic reminders to get important tests, educational materials specific to these condition, and overall support and encouragement are all part of this service.
MyHealth Advice Line
No matter when needed, the MyHealth Advice Line is available 24/7 to provide our members with health advice. Whether calling to seek general health information or data regarding a specific issue, experienced registered nurses are available around the clock to provide members with prompt and efficient service. We’re there for our members when they need us.
MyHealth OnLine Interactive Health and Wellness Tool
UPMC for Life members have access to MyHealth OnLine, a secure member portal which provides a variety of important health facts, recommendations, and tools to help you healthy. Free services for members include access to WebMD® and health surveys. Our members can also receive personalized diet and exercise programs. In addition, UPMC for Life now offers the new MyHealth Record that tracks claims and other personal health information.

UPMC Health Plan is a health plan with a Medicare contract. Our Medicare plans are available to persons entitled to Part A and enrolled in Part B. You must continue to pay Medicare premiums, reside in the service area, and not have ESRD.
