At the IU Center for Senior Health, IU School of Medicine experts provide special medical care just for older adults. A group of geriatricians (doctors who specialize in the care of older adults) and staff are devoted to meeting your healthcare needs. The doctor, nurse and social work teams partner with you, your family and your personal doctor to keep you as healthy, active and independent as possible. The IU Center for Senior Health features:

- Primary care for patients age 65 and older who are unable to come to the doctor’s office
- Doctors, nurse practitioners and social workers who visit you in your home

Our Extended Care Program can help you by providing:
- Ongoing care for patients needing physical therapy or long-term care
- Care in many facilities throughout Marion County, including Lockefield Village, Wishard’s state-of-the-art rehabilitation and healthcare center serving the central Indiana community
Do you know someone in need of hospital care?
Wishard’s Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit is designed to meet the special needs of older adults when they are hospitalized:
- A beautiful home-like environment
- Specially trained nurses with care for older adults and assist their families
- Doctors, social workers, therapists and pharmacists all work together to provide you with the best care
