Article provided by Ellen J. Dehouske, PhD. Once a high school English
teacher, she later became a Carlow University professor of early childhood
education in Pittsburgh. During that time, she wrote professional
papers. Through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University
of Pittsburgh, she has taken courses upon retirement and discovered
her joyful avocation, life story writing. She has since written and self-
published We Feed Each Other: Nourishment through Friendships (a
memoir of sorts) which can be found on Amazon. She continues to write
and to facilitate life story writing groups around Pittsburgh.
